Ms. Tara N. Thue (phonetic pronunciation: Two-ee)
Tara Thue is AT&T’s President of the Mountain West States for external and legislative affairs. In this role, Tara leads all external, governmental and community affairs for AT&T in Utah, Idaho, and Montana. Prior to joining AT&T, she served in the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (now known as the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity), overseeing the State’s efforts to improve broadband access and advising the Governor’s office on communications related policy issues. She also worked on federal technology and communications public policy matters for Comcast Corporation in Washington, DC before moving back to her home state of Utah. In 2021, Tara was chosen as one of Utah Business Magazine’s “40 Under 40” award winners and currently serves as a board member for Make-A-Wish Utah (former board chair), co-chair of AT&T External & Legislative Affair’s Women’s Leadership Forum and serves on several other business-focused boards in both Idaho and Utah. Tara was appointed by Governor Spencer Cox to serve as a commissioner on Alcoholic Beverage Services Commission in 2021 and was recently named as Chair. Tara was born in Logan, Utah, attended Sky View High School and graduated from Utah State University with a dual major in Political Science and Economics. She is married to attorney and Weber State University professor, Matt Thue, and together they have two young kids, a blind dog and live in Salt Lake City.
