Joseph “Joe” Murray is the Chief of Investigations for the PLCB Bureau of Licensing. The investigations division has three regional offices located in Plymouth Meeting, Harrisburg and Monroeville. Each regional office employs one regional manager, two supervisors and 16-18 investigating analysts who are strategically home headquartered throughout the state. Analysts review the qualifications of applicants, financial arrangements, conduct on-site inspections and personal interviews. All reported changes to the licensed premises and license status are investigated. Most investigations are conducted within a 30-45 day time period. A written report is submitted to the appropriate reviewing authority for a decision. In certain circumstances, the field analyst can grant authority at the time of the inspection. Joe has been with the Board since 2006 and has spent all but 2 years in the investigations division. He is based out of Harrisburg, Pa and holds a Bachelors of Sociology with a concentration in Criminal Justice.
